BLOCK PARTY!!

Help us celebrate the arrival of summer! Saturday May 30 from 4-8 PM. Location is the Gazebo at the Scituate RI Commons (same location as the Scituate Art Festival). Click here for directions.

• Live music by Kevin Fallon and Friends. Open mic between sets (bring your instruments).
• Dancing.

Cost of admission: one or more cans of food (”Yes-We Cans”) to donate to community food banks.

Recent Accomplishments:

• January 20, 2009: YesWeCan-RI organized a food drive in coordination with The RI Community Food Bank. Over 600 items of food were donated over a one-week period.
  

  Over 600 food items collected in first YesWeCan-RI project

  January locations for donating non-perishable food items included:

• Scituate: Brigido’s Market, Library, Town Hall
• Chepachet: Kitson’s Liquors, CVS
• Harmony: Stick’s Tavern
• Greenville: CVS, Stop & Shop Supermarket
• Coventry: Tom’s Market, Stop and Shop, Jerry’s Supermarket
• East Greenwich: Ocean State Veterinary Specialists

Food was distributed at the Trinity Episcopal Church, the Scituate Department of Human Services, and the RI Community Food bank for people locally and across the state.

Food Items Most Needed

• Protein: Canned Soup, Tuna, Meat, Peanut Butter, Nuts and Canned & Dried Beans
• Canned Fruits & Vegetables including Juices and Tomato Sauce
• Carbohydrates: Nutritious Breakfast Cereals, Whole Wheat Pasta, Brown Rice
• Crackers, Granola Bars and Cheese & Cracker Packages
• Canned Stews and Chili
• Extra Virgin Olive Oil
